iTutor Answers
Is iTutor FERPA compliant?
Yes — iTutor is designed to meet FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) requirements for institutional deployments. Schools and universities sign a Data Processing Agreement; student data is segmented, encrypted, and never used to train models. Parents and admins have access controls.
More detail
FERPA compliance is built into the institutional product: per-school data isolation, role-based access (student/teacher/admin), encryption at rest and in transit, and audit logging on every data access. iTutor signs a DPA with each institution detailing data ownership (the school owns it), retention policy, and breach-notification procedures. Student data is never used to train AI models — that's contractual, not optional.
