Audio is now included on the Free and Basic plans

Turn any chapter you have uploaded into something you can listen to. Three a month on Free, five on Basic, in all twelve languages.

Audio used to be something you paid to unlock. From today it is included on the free plan, and on Basic, with a monthly allowance on both.

Turn any chapter, any set of notes, any slide deck you have uploaded into something you can listen to. It is the same material you are studying, read aloud properly, so revision can happen on a walk, on a bus, or in the twenty minutes before a lecture when reading is not an option.

YOUR CHAPTER READ ALOUD, IN YOUR LANGUAGE LISTEN ANYWHERE

Upload once, then read it or listen to it, whichever suits the hour you have.

Every language, not only English

Audio works across the twelve languages the platform runs in, with a voice chosen for each one rather than a single accent stretched over all of them. Arabic in particular is read by an Arabic voice, which matters when the alternative is a lesson delivered in the wrong sounds.

Where to find it

Open a subject, choose Audio File, and pick the material you want read. It arrives as a normal audio file: play it in the browser, or download it and keep it on your phone for somewhere with no signal.

Why we opened it up

Listening is not a luxury feature. It is how a lot of people revise: commuting, walking, cooking, resting their eyes after six hours of screens. It is also how studying works at all for people who find long reading hard, and for anyone whose eyes are tired before their attention is.

Keeping that behind a paywall meant the students with the least time and the least money were the ones without it. The cost of producing audio came down enough for us to stop charging for the first few each month, so we have.

If three or five a month is not enough, the paid plans go further. If it is enough, it costs nothing, which was the point.
