La séance de révision de dernière minute que vous auriez aimé avoir

Mahmoud Ghonemi 8 avril 2026

It's 9 PM. Your exam is at 9 AM. You have twelve hours, three chapters you never really understood, and the caffeine jitters of someone who has made some questionable choices this semester. What you really need right now is a TA to walk you through the most important stuff in the order that makes sense.

Good news: we built that. The new AI Exam Prep Session in iTutor reconstructs exactly that kind of review — a simulated TA-led final review session, generated from your own course materials, structured so you can walk through it linearly like you're sitting in a live class.

How the session is structured

iTutor reads your materials, figures out which topics the material spends the most time on (so they're likely exam-heavy), and builds a guided session with:

  • Topic-by-topic breakdown ordered by estimated exam weight
  • Time allocation per topic — so you know whether to spend 4 minutes or 15
  • Key points for each topic, drawn from your source material
  • Common pitfalls — the mistakes that cost students marks
  • Three practice questions per topic with fully worked answers
  • "If you only remember one thing" — the single most important takeaway

Default session length is 60 minutes. The viewer works like a stepper you walk through in real time, with a running minute counter and checkboxes per topic, so you're literally pacing yourself through a simulated review class. It also exports as a condensed one-page cheat sheet you can glance at on the way in.

Why this is different from a mock exam

A mock exam tests you. A review session teaches you. When you have twelve hours left, you don't need to be tested — you need someone to explain the most important things one more time, point out the traps, and give you a fighting chance. iTutor's exam prep session is the teaching half of exam prep. Pair it with a mock exam if you want to then self-test.

Grounded in your materials, not the internet

Same principle as every other new iTutor tool: the AI generates from the material you uploaded, with real citations on every claim. When the practice questions use your textbook's exact notation and your professor's preferred approach, they're way more valuable than generic practice problems.

The full exam-night stack

Start with the AI Study Guide for your primary reference, run the Exam Prep Session to walk through the most weighted topics in a structured way, and keep the Worked Solutions tool open for when you hit a problem type you still can't crack. That's the full exam-night kit. It's not a replacement for a semester of studying. But when you have twelve hours and no TA, it's the next best thing.
